The book begins by examining the history of speculative manias both locally and in the rest of the world and examines the reason for the occurrence of such manias. It then explains the fundamentals of investment which are all too often neglected by local investors, often at great subsequent cost. The book proceeds to explain many of the pitfalls which unwary and inexperienced investors are prone to fall into.
